"Don't get me wrong, I'm not suicidal, never confuse that. I merely
have a slanted view on the human condition. Any logical person comes to
the conclusion that life is what we make of it and that outside of
ourselves there is no universal morality. I take this at face value,
yes there is no definitive good or evil, but there are facts and there
are intangible things we can still grasp for. Whether or not it can be
mathematically proven there are still states that exist, love, glory,
damnation. We cant point to them and say 'this, this here is glory' but
we know it is there. My point here is this, everything we do will be
forgotten in time, even the greatest or most heinous deeds will be lost
eventually, so lets not bother trying to make something to last
forever. Lets try to find something that wont last, lets try to do
something small but important. We live day to day terrified of the
future, every moment dreading that we will be sad or lonely or poor, as
we get older we dread anonymity and obscurity. Thats not what I fear, I
fear growing to the point that I need to fear that stuff. I fear waking
up one day and wishing i had done something more. I don't want to die
out of selfishness, i want to die for something larger than me, for
someone else. Now please, just let me die. Let me have this glory." -Anonymous Samurai
